While the country seems endless, we have found that exploring smaller areas thoroughly brings the most satisfaction. No two trips are ever alike.
While weather can dictate much of where we go, quiet calm waters are the norm. The goal is
to provide a personalized tour and to allow you to experience the spectacular scenery and the excitement of new discoveries.

There are lots of secluded coves to investigate. Hot springs abound in the region as well as old gold mines, abandoned canneries and settlements.
There are trails where you can stretch your legs to check out the view from the
alpine, or you may want to just dangle a fishing line over the side to see what's biting on the
bottom, or maybe troll up a salmon for dinner while we ease along in the boat, looking for wildlife.
Setting out the crab or shrimp pots almost always provides the next day's lunch. Southeast Alaska is truly a seafood
lover's paradise!

Although Skookumchuck was set up as a working sailboat
with an aft cargo/fish hold and trolling cockpit, it has never been put to
use in that service. Amidships, inside the wheelhouse and galley the teak floors and interior cabinets contribute to a homey, warm
yacht-like coziness. Click here for
pictures inside the yacht.
The full-size oil-fired cooking range in the galley insures the boat will remain
warm and cozy should we run into inclement weather.

If the spacious deck does not suit you, the area around the dining table with its
cushioned seating provides comfortable accommodations and a great view while we cruise through protected waters watching for whales and other wildlife.
We recommend that you bring cameras, binoculars, and sunglasses. Casual clothing,
which includes a warm sweater or a medium weight jacket to keep you
comfortable, is a must.
While we can provide foul weather gear, you'll be a lot more comfortable if
you bring your own.
