Twins Charlene
Tufts and Darlene Beddow came up from California for their first
sojourn to Alaska where they teamed up with lifelong friends and fellow
twins Phyllis Mulligan and first mate Cindy Plaza for an early
June cruise. "Capt'n Ted" was outnumbered on this trip!
Friends since childhood. The Spaniards grew up learning to love Chinese food and the Chinese gals grew up learning to eat garbanzos and sausage. While Cindy and Phyllis headed to Alaska in the early 70's, Char and Dar waited nearly 40 years. This is a trip that was long overdue!

Already assuming command,
Dar, who used to fish commercially off the California
coast, heads out of port with beautiful Mt. Edgecomb in the
background. As I said, this was going to be a tough trip on the
"Capt'n."

Char in a reflective
mood.

There was lots of time
for walking
on the many beaches.
Or going for skiff rides.
No, they weren't jumping
ship and camping out but they did find someone else's camp.
Our friend Andre (whose
very French) sailed into our bay and tied up with us one evening.

No trip is complete
without catching some Dungies! |
Is this a nice day or
what! Hmmm! Good eating coming up.
Getting a lesson on cleaning
crabs.
Smile everyone!
Well, they were there a
minute ago!
Wonder if this was the
smallest Post Office these Californians ever saw?
Doesn't look Chinese or
Spanish to me!
Someone had to hold the
camera! So which twin is missing?
That's better!
Almost time to say goodbye. It was a grand trip!
