Fishkind's 2nd Cruise Early August

Hank and Linda Fishkind return for their second cruise aboard Skookumchuck. Friend Steven Kennon came too. It was a trip of firsts for all of us but especially for Steve!

Picking strawberries Picking strawberries on the beach in Lituya Bay. Now that's what you could call an off the beaten path strawberry patch!

And we weren't the only ones there!

Who those tracks belong to?

Stephen

Yes Stephen, that's what you think it is!  And he was right there eating some of those same fish you're trying to catch.

Good going Hank!

Checking out the sights

There was lots of time for checking out the sights from the boat.

But how many times does a person get
to explore inside an old gold mine?

Climbing a glacier

Or climb on the face of a glacier?  For Floridians, that's about as far from home as you can get.

OK.  So it's not so big but it sure was good!  Thanks Linda.

Rock

Recognize the rock?  It's one of the main photos in our Photo Gallery but the first time ever we landed to check it out in person.

Another familiar landmark near Elfin Cove.

Walking the boardwalk

And what's Elfin Cove without taking a walk around the board walk.  Hank was behind the camera again.

And here's Hank again with Stephen helping one of the local fishermen  on the Marilee attach a new anchor.

Hank again but in a bit more reflective mood at sea.

Hank and Steve tending the sails on a very nice day of sailing!

.Whales

Bubble feeding whales!  What a show!  Not only a first for the Floridians but also for Cindy.  Her first sighting in 30 years.  Again thanks to Hank for being behind the camera.

Is this nice bay or what?

Bay

Saying good-bye

And another!  But unfortunately time to say goodbye.  Steven certainly had the most firsts on the trip.  Whales, sea lions, seals, glaciers, brown bears, sailing, crabs, shrimp and salt water fishing.  And then some!  A very nice cruise for us all!
