Skookumchuck Charters

  Tom Long and company

Tom Long and company joined Skookumchuck in Juneau. Tim Foley, Greg Wickman and Mark Campbell made up the hard core fishermen part of the group while Dan Granger (who came with his son Jack) brought "tons" of information on potential gold
panning areas along our route of travel. It was a fun trip for all!

Plenty of fish Plenty of fish

We caught plenty of fish but..........

Dan showing off his take

The gold pans yielded just about what you see in the photo. That's Dan showing off his take. Well, there were some "interesting" rocks.

And then there was the wolf eel that Tim caught (and released).

The big guy Here's the "big guy" Tim seeing what his heavy rod could do.

Could that be a rockfish?  Oh, just a rock.  Wonder how it got that net around it?

Could that be a rockfish

Mark

Mark was happy just fishing and looking over the country.

Tom was happiest with a pole in his hand but....... Tom

Gold panning He was torn between the gold and the fishing.  It was probably a wise move that the fishing side of him won out.

Greg showing off his nice halibut. Greg

The smallest fish  But what about this one Greg?  I think he got the award for the smallest fish.

Thirteen year old Jack with an nice stringer of salmon. Jack with his fish

Hoonah

Hoonah where we took on some ice for the fish hold.  Nice little town.

We had some rough weather along the way (great sailing even for non sailors) but we had some nice days as this early morning photo shows. A nice day

Breeching whales
We even got pretty close to some breeching whales.  Unfortunately, no one got a photo of them until they hit the water again.  This is Mark's photo.

And we even managed a hot bath along the way.  This is in front of White Sulfur Hot Springs a few days before it was time to say goodbye.  Quite a fishing trip! White Sulfur Hot Springs
