Steve and Joy Miller's Glacier Bay Cruise,
September

Steve and Joy Miller

Bird enthusiasts for sure!  The Millers especially wanted to see puffins for the first time.  On their eleven day cruise, they got a whole lot more than they expected.  We saw the puffins the first day out and things kept getting better from there.  JoAnn Bailey, who joined us on this trip, preformed her usual magic in the gallery.  Each meal practically became a memory in itself!

A beautiful day in Glacier Bay. An incredibly beautiful day in Glacier Bay but the ice is still a ways off!

Already "termination dust" on the higher mountains. Termination dust on the mountains

Finally the glaciers! And finally the glaciers themselves!

Joy and JoAnn getting a closer look. Getting a closer look.

Is this close enough? Is this close enough?

"My very own piece."  (That's history melting in your hands, Joy.) My very own piece!

Yelloweyes are good eating. OK Steve, so it's not a halibut!  Yelloweyes are still pretty good eating.

That's not a halibut either! That's not a halibut either.

Joy's bear! Joy's bear!

Joy examining the first crab pot she ever pulled, with the best part still to come!  I'm sure JoAnn already has water boiling.

Is this fun or what? Is this fun or what?

One of the big cruise ships getting a little bit of "God light" as we were leaving the Park.  Perhaps as good a way as any to say goodbye to Glacier Bay for another season.
