Skookumchuck Charters

Marty Ortenzio returns for the third time with son David (left). Younger sons Matthew and Patrick who had heard plenty of "Skookumchuck tales" over the years finally got to add their own. David, since his first cruise with us at age 14, has grown into a fine young man and his two brothers are heading the same direction. Good job Dad!

Dropping pots

Of course there was the usual crab and shrimp pots to put down.

And fish to catch.  Great catch Matt! Matt

On deck

And helping out on deck.  Here's Patrick with a shrimp pot with brother David (who snapped most of these photos) and Matthew looking on.

That is when there wasn't somewhere else to be!  Patrick just had to do what his brother and cousins had done years ago.

Patrick

Matthew

Not to be outdone, Matthew gets a look from up high as well.

Why is everyone holding their ears?

Holding ears

Handgun

Because of the "most powerful handgun in the world," that's why!

Everyone got plenty of shooting practice!  Just the thing for boys of all ages!  Here's David at it again with dad Marty and Capt'n Ted looking on. Shooting practice

Demonstration Back on deck, Capt'n Ted is giving a demonstration in locating the otolith or the balancing mechanisms in fish heads.

Could that be a cave?  It was that and more--a gold mine!  Too bad the flashlight gave out guys. Cave

Marty

Everything OK Marty?

"Shrimp on the Barbie" by David and Marty.  Hmmmm.

Cooking shrimp

Playing games

Oh darn!  Patrick's newly found favorite game was even more fun with Matthew's energetic input.

Late in the trip we got the chance to get "way too close" to some bears.  Too bad about the lack of a photo.  Seems in the excitement of getting out of there, we forgot.  Ha, ha.

Too close

Saying goodbye

Almost time to say goodbye boys but, at least you'll have plenty of stories to tell your friends for years to come.
